UMSC OPDL Venue Coordinator (Contract Position)      

Unionville-Milliken Soccer Club (UMSC) is a not for profit organization seeking a Contract Position for an OPDL Game Day Venue Coordinator. Reporting to the Director, Competitive Program, this person will act as the Ontario Soccer Venue Coordinator for the Unionville Milliken Soccer Club. The OPDL Venue Coordinator will ensure excellent service standards and maintain all Ontario Soccer Game Day Standards. 

 

OPDL Venue Coordinators manage smooth logistical running of high performance youth soccer games on game day each week throughout the OPDL soccer season. As well as providing support for teams during their game day experience, OPDL Venue Coordinators also manage the set-up of venues for match play and the break down and close up in the evening.

 

The role is deadline-driven and time-intensive and requires energetic, highly motivated multi-taskers who are exceptional communicators, organizers and thrive on delivering high quality customer service.

 

Overall:

1.       Contract Position; May 2018 – November 2018

2.       Part-time hours; Saturday and Sunday and some week nights

3.       Personal Vehicle is an asset

 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

 

Specifically, the OPDL Venue Coordinator's responsibilities include:

a) Set up of the field(s) for game play, which may include:

i. setting up of goals, corner flags and field markings

ii. setting up of administration gazebo

iii. erecting of OPDL banners and flags

v. posting of OPDL directional signage (as needed)

b) Preparation of team and officials change rooms

c) Preparation of hydration station and concessions (if applicable)

d) Liaisons with OPDL teams on their arrival

e) General customer service support to teams and their support groups during their OPDL game

f) Point of contact for Match Officials on arrival and during their visit

g) Assistance to onsite medical staff during their visit

h) Game time administration, including checking of Player Registration books/cards, assistance with substitution paperwork, game sheets and other paperwork

i) Close up of venue on completion of final game, including:

i. storage of field equipment – pick up and return all equipment to the storage unit before and after every game

ii. maintenance of fields and venue in general state of tidiness

iii. powering of floodlights and closure of fields in line with venue requirements

j) Completion of close out reports

 

Skills & Qualifications:

·         Strong communication skills

·         Ability to lift heavy objects weighing approximately 30 lbs

·         Highly Punctual

·         Client focused and ability to respond to different types of personalities and conflict management

·         Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively

Minimum of a High school diploma
